Nóiníní

Its our fifth week now at The Hollies and all our little Nóiníní are really finding their roots. Last week we ventured to the high grounds, for one to avoid the swampy grounds after so much rain and also to find a few trees to play in. With our magic spring ding sticks in hand, we went off to give spring a helping hand and have some fun in the trees.

The discovery of a wee stream on the way had the kids full of excitement so with todays glorious sunshine on our side,  more splashing and sploshing was a given.

Its so great to witness the kids finding their own confidence to explore and play together. Peter went all tribal with his fire lighting skills, using a mushroom from the ash tree and birch bark to get the fire started. We peeled willow to make charcoal, popped popcorn and cooked ourselves some bread and gratefully received  the summer holiday feeling the day bestowed.
