A New Mucky Boot adventure

The birth of Mucky Boots coincided with the birth of me as a mother and as such I have always been very passionate about providing fun and supportive opportunities for parents and their little ones to get outside and enjoy the bounty nature has to offer. The warmth of a fire, a warm cup of tea and nature as our inspiration, is in my opinion a welcomed and necessary alternative to early parenting and early years learning. I was lucky enough to have the support of an amazing team, and both Aaron and Peter were so supportive of me as a new mother and as a forest school facilitator,  finding creative ways to include my wee boy Naoise while allowing me to do what I love.

Myself and Peter ran a Parent and toddler sessions in The Quarry in Cork for a couple of years, we ran some sessions near Crosshaven and in The Hollies, Enniskeane. As Naoise approached four I really wanted him to have the opportunity to play, explore and learn with others in nature on a more regular basis. I was super excited to link in with a group of other like minded parents and Le Cheile Forest school project was born. The project is a small scale local collective that is developing in response to parents and children’s needs. Our aim is to create an inclusive space that nurtures children’s innate creativity, their connection to nature and gives them the freedom to play and be themselves.  We hope to be able to create a sustainable project by working with the strengths of the people in the collective and making the process fun and rewarding for all involved. We are now offering two mornings a week with the hope that that will increase as time goes on. Watch this space 🙂
