Dressed to impress.
Delicate purple petals, blooming at elders feet.
Sheila dancing in the trees.
Shameless and free.
Ferns unfurling to join the dance as the fire returns once more.
I was the early bird for last weeks Family Day and arrived in the woods with an hour to myself to play with the morning light and words. The families arrived with raincoats and suncream, yes suncream ! We ambled, climbed and then rested by the bluebells for a story about the little brown mouse and the shiny big acorn. We adventured to base camp where some took on their own explorations and others helped get the fire lighting to make some popcorn. We basked in the sun with flower crowns and jingle sticks to ring and sing in the month of May !
